How an injury to my right hand has taken me down an unexpected creative route
Surprise Constrains:
Two weeks ago I dramatically injured my right hand in a late night washing up accident. I somehow smashed a glass bowl through my hand at velocity as it slipped, both slicing and stabbing myself. Blood sprayed all over the sink and floor and I had was rushed to emergency in a sobbing shaking mess. One night, some fentanyl, oxycodone, local and general anaesthetic and antibiotics later, I had hand surgery to open up my hand, extract the glass, and stitch it all back up.
Highlights from the ordeal include a kind nurse in the surgery recovery ward giving me not one but two lemonade icy poles, many toasty blankets, and coming home to find my hungry cat had done a great job of lapping up the blood I spilled.
